As it was a Tuesday evening I figured it would be reasonably quiet. It was anything but. The place was absolutely packed (a great sign?), and I managed to join in the vibrant atmosphere by squeezing on to a small table for two. After checking the menu for a while, and looking around at what other people were ordering for inspiration (was mainly butter chicken and naan at that stage), I decided to go for something I hadn't tried before but not too far on the experimental scale. Being in a shop with biryani in its title, it would've probably made sense to order that, but as I thought it would be too filling for one if ordered with other dishes, I went for a curry, rice and bread option instead: Kerala Chicken Milagu (boneless chicken cooked with ground peppercorn and spice, and flavoured with aniseed and curry leaves), plain paratha, and basmati rice, and to whet the appetite, I went for masala papad and a bottle of Kingfisher (strong).
